WeylChem Group of Companies was established in 2005 as the Fine Chemicals platform of International Chemical Investors Group. WeylChem is managed by the President, the Managing Directors of the operating companies, VP of Sales & Marketing and the Chief Financial Officer.
Uwe Brunk received a PhD in organic chemistry and he completed an eMBA. He started his career 1989 in the production at Bayer, followed by strategic planning, marketing and sales. In 2001, he took over the lead for global marketing of custom manufacturing for Bayer Chemicals. Since 2005, he managed the Business Line Agro & Specialty Chemicals at Saltigo. In 2012, he joined CABB Group, where he expanded the global business with monochloroacetic acid to one of the market leaders. In October 2018, he took over the role of the President of the WeylChem-Group.
Antti Koivisto studied International Business & Finance at University of Lincoln and in addition completed a B.B.A. in management. He has also completed an Executive MBA from Hanken School of Economics. He started his chemical career in the UK working for BASF where he worked in a number of sales and marketing management roles with increasing responsibility. After other stations in marketing at Orica and Dow, Antti joined WeylChem Group of Companies in 2017 and is today leading the sales and marketing platform for the Group.
Axel Brinkmann-Hornbogen holds a Master in Finance & Economics from the University of Bremen. His work experience as Finance Business Partner includes 25 years in different finance roles across companies. In his last role at Chemviron, he functioned as Finance Director Europe for more than six years. Within this position he was responsible for the Finance and Accounting of nine legal entities with ten plants and served as member of the leadership team.
In January 2019 he took over the role as CFO of the WeylChem-Group.
Andreas Maier studied at the University of Stuttgart, Germany and holds a Ph.D. in organic Chemistry. He started his career working for Hoechst in the fine chemicals business, which became part of WeylChem in 2007. After assignments in R&D, Operations, Sales as well as Business Management in Europe and the US, he became Head of the Consumer Care Business in September 2015. Andreas is married with 3 children and enjoys family life, canoeing and hiking.
Gilles Zuberbuhler studied at the University of Montpellier in France and started his career in the Hoechst group. He has held several leading positions in laboratories, production, controlling, commercial support and site management with Hoechst and later Clariant in Europe. Gilles was appointed managing director of WeylChem Lamotte after the takeover of the activity by ICIG in January 2014. He lives in France, where he practices mountain sports in both winter and summer. Gilles is married with 3 children.
Mark Matheny holds a MBA from Kent State University as also Bachelors of Science from Ohio State University. His work experience includes 23 years at Georgia-Pacific Packaging Division mostly in finance roles and as General Manager of a orrugated box manufacturing plant and 10 years as Vice President Strategic Planning and Analysis for Novolex. In 2017 he took over the role as CFO at WeylChem US and was interim Managing Director for eight months. Mark is married with two children and two grandchildren.
Steffen Sonnenberg holds a university degree in organic chemistry as well as his Ph.D. at the TU Berlin. As a part of his leadership roles at Symrise, Bell, Sensient and Minascent, he gained a wealth of experience i.e. in various areas of the custom manufacturing industry including fine chemicals, nutrition, feed, and pharmaceutical ingredients. In November 2019 he took over the function of managing director of WeylChem InnoTec GmbH.
Raoul Biskupek holds Diploma’s in Business Administration from Universities in Germany and the USA. After graduation, Raoul joined Merck KGaA as a Controller. Afterwards he worked 20 years at VWR in several countries and many different leadership functions – amongst which several General Management roles and responsible for Global Chemical Manufacturing. In 2018 he founded a company he has been leading since then as CEO: Vancouver Island Chemicals GmbH & Co. KG.
Wolfgang Böhm studied energy and process engineering at the Technical University of Dresden and graduated as an engineer at the University of Hannover in 1994. He began his professional career as an engineering project manager at Hoechst AG before moving to Clariant GmbH in 1997. Since the foundation of AllessaChemie GmbH in 2001, he has held various management positions before being appointed Managing Director of AllessaProduktion GmbH in 2014 and Managing Director of Allessa GmbH and WeylChem Höchst GmbH in 2017.
