Weylchem US began the manufacture of Grignard reagents for internal use back in the 1970’s in Elgin, starting with the production of artificial flavorings. Since that time WeylChem US has expanded the Grignard capacity for internal use in other products and for sale as Grignard reagents to the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.

The Elgin site has two established production lines, one is 4.000 gallons and the other 2.800s gallon. They plan to refurbish their pilot area to set up a third production line based on 650 gallons in order for us to make smaller campaigns.

The Augusta plant was built in 1980 for the manufacture of 2-Chloropyridine and contract manufacturing.

Core Technologies are Skraup Quinolines, High pressure hydrolyses, Bromination, Grignard and Suzuki Coupling, Carbonylation, Ullmann reaction and Diels Alder Cyclization as you can find in our product list.
