WeylChem provides a selected range of valuable oxidation products, some of them out of dedicated specialized technical equipment. A good example is WeylChem‘s oxidation plant VP5 in Frankfurt-Hoechst where products like crotonic acid or methoxyacetic acid are being produced in tonnages > 1.000 mts/a. This plant is using pure oxygen and a heterogenous noble metal catalytic system which guarantees high product qualities under especially environmental friendly production conditions. A good representative for‚ Green Chemistry‘ is the socalled air oxidation technology. Indeed, only air and a transition metal catalyst is good enough to oxidize a large number of toluenes or other alkyl substituted aromatic systems to corresponding aromatic acids. This method is reprensenting one of the largest industrial-scale applications (e.g. terephthalic acid from p-xylene) but certainly also being applied for the smooth access to intermediates for the Life Science and other industries.
